Random Thought 1: During my time reading Invincible I've heard people periodically complain about how late it is. So I thought about it and decided I would see just how late Invincible ends up being. So here are the facts:
My Bottom Line Conclusion: Invincible had a rough time being on schedule when it originally started out. As you can see, that first year only 6 issues came out (contributing to that record 112 days). But, on the whole, Invincible comes out only a few days longer then once a month on the average. When you factor in that each issue has a letter's page (a real rarity in comics right now) and that Robert Kirkman has admitted that he basically does Invincible for free (most of the money goes to Ryan and Bill) that's pretty darn impressive. So is Invincible always late, I'm going to have to go with No. Those are the facts. |

Random Thought 2: Ok, I've said this before on the Image Message Board but I have a website now so I'll subject whoever is willing to come here to my theory. The Viltrumites in this series are pretty hardcore and beating them would be nothing short of a miracle. If only there was someway to negate their abilities. BUT WAIT!!!! Back in issue 3, The Flaxans developed the technology to negate Omni-man's powers completely. "As soon as they put that thing on my head, I WAS POWERLESS." - Omni-man The Flaxans may be from a different dimension but there are plenty of instances of interdimensional travel in this book. As for locating which dimension, the Flaxans were able to figure out a lot about our dimension from clothes Omni-man left behind. With all the geniuses Cecil has working for him, I'm sure that they could come up with which dimension the Flaxans were from with corpses and tech left behind from their invasion attempts. My Bottom Line Conclusion: Somebody in Invincible needs to step up, figure this out, go to the Flaxan's dimension, steal this technology and weaponize it into a ray or field of some sort and go beat up the Viltrumites like redheaded step-children. |

Random Thought 3: Alot of people have had crappy childhoods or parent issues in Invincible. Maybe it's not that many but look at the government superheroes. Invincible: His dad nearly killed him and severly damaged his family RexSplode: His family sold him to the government for a better life Dupli-Kate: Her father went insane and gave her and her brother to the government Robot: Spent most of his life in a tube Monster Girl: Her first romance caused her to age backwards. My Bottom Line Conclusion: OK.....I got nothing on this one, I just find it interesting. I don't really know that there's a point. |

Random Thought 4: So Rex was recruited by the government. But why? Why him, why his family? I mean there are plenty of mysteries in this series but I think Rex's origin drums up more questions then it answers. I was reading Brit the other day and before Brit killed him a man named Erickson worked for the government. He basiclly did what would become Donald's job. I swear that it was Erickson who came to recruit Rex. He worked for the government, he would have still been alive then so maybe that's one answer. The End. |

Random Thought 5: I am a nerd. I'm sure that having this site was enough to clue you into that. I'm going to tell you a short tale of what makes me nerdier then you may have previously thought. On a regular basis I peruse Amazon.com (you may have noticed my fondness for that site since I link to it as a place to buy trades and hard covers). I recently checked to see if they had a release date for The Ultimate Invincible Hardcover Volume 3. Of course, there was no date but the cover baffled me. It looked off to me. The Invincible image was easily placed as being from the official poster. The background was a little bit tougher to pin down. After closer inspection, I realized the background image is the background to the 2 nd hardcover but mirrored. I don't know when they first posted this image but it seems it would have been easier to use the real image then to go to the trouble to fabricate this fake cover. Anyhow, it doesn't really matter I'm just a nerd. I included the image for you to inspect. |
